Abstract
The adverse effects of EGP on the course of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period are varied and depend on the nature and severity of the underlying disease. Many extragenital diseases predispose to the development of obstetric complications. It can be said that arterial hypertension increases the risk of premature placental abruption and eclampsia, all hemophilic conditions - early postpartum hemorrhage, diabetes mellitus - abnormalities of labor, fetal distress during childbirth, shoulder dystocia, urinary tract infection - premature birth, etc. It is important to know that there is a specific and non-specific effect of a certain disease on the frequency of a certain complication.
