Abstract

To achieve and maintain optimal glycemic control in type 2 diabetes mellitus, a combination of lifestyle modification and drug therapy is necessary. Various sugar-lowering drugs with different mechanisms of action, both tablet and injectable forms, are currently used. The article presents data on modern approaches to the choice of sugar-lowering drugs in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
