Abstract

Risk factors that determine the development of surgical infection can arise at all stages of the perioperative period. In this regard, preventive measures aimed at preventing infectious complications should be carried out both in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative periods. In addition, preoperative identification and stratification of risk factors play an important role. Purpose of the study: to analyze modern methods of antimicrobial perioperative prophylaxis. Material and research methods: compilation of modern Russian and foreign literary sources, as well as current scientific works in the field of modern surgery, containing information on antimicrobial perioperative prophylaxis. Research results and discussion. Currently, widespread and highly effective methods of antimicrobial prophylaxis are methods using chemotherapeutic agents, such as various natural and synthetic antibiotics with bactericidal or bacteriostatic effects.
